Larry McMahan

Larry McMahan is Vice President, Performance, for Transocean Ltd.
Prior to his assignment to this role in late 2007, Mr. McMahan served as Director of Performance in Singapore for Transocean's former Asia and Pacific Business Unit since 2004.
Mr. McMahan joined the company in 1980 working offshore on the Discoverer Seven Seas drillship. Deepwater exploration drilling during this era included campaigns in Scotland, Italy, Congo West Africa, France, Brazil, the East Coast Gulf of Mexico USA. His leadership positions have included Offshore Installation Manager, Assistant Superintendent, Rig Manager and Operations Manager.
As Rig Manager of the drillship Discoverer Enterprise, he was involved in the design and delivery of the world's first dual-activity, ultra-deepwater drillship. He later served as Operations Manager for the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Mr. McMahan is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC). He has served as a committee member in industry seminars on deepwater well control, deepwater well construction and managed pressure drilling. He also has contributed to industry trade articles and technical papers on Transocean's patented dual-activity drilling technology.
